This Is How It ALL Started!

Why is farm life so comical, you might ask.  For any other person, it probably wouldn't be.  But for us, farm life is quite a new experience.  We are totally new at this whole living out in the country and raising animals gig.  And may I add, I'm Asian.  Asians are nerds and we are good at math, but raising animals ain't our strong suit!  Asian + farm/country living = No Bueno! (plus I'm not a huge animal person, I don't pet every animal in sight and want to take every single one of them home...so yeah, it will be...um...interesting)
In order to make the best out of this new experience, it is best to just laugh a little and learn to laugh at ourselves a little, as we try to get a hang of things.  Right now we are just "wannabe" country people.  But someday, someday, we will become the real deal!  You are more than welcome to follow us and learn with us along the way.  I just want to throw it out there, that I pretty much write whatever is in my head so it's not really filtered, you just never know what's coming out of my mouth! (ok, it will be somewhat censored as to keep it G-rated :) )  So consider yourself warned!

See, we used to live in this nice big house in a nice subdivision.

Our previous house
Then just a few months ago we decided to take the plunge and moved out to the country with couple of acres and moved to what I called a "redneck DIY project"

Our redneck DIY project house

This "new house" that we moved to is indeed a very old house.  Not only is it old it's half the size of the house we used to live in.  The previous owners of our "new house" left the house in horrible condition, worse than a foreclosure home.  They left us with a bunch of trash inside the house and in the barn.  We had to take quite a few trailer loads of trash to the landfill (3 trailer loads to be exact, and it was a 20 ft trailer, with trash stacked up like 5 feet high and I'm not exaggerating!).  They had carpet in the kitchen and boy, it was nasty! (it has since been ripped out).  Oh and did I mention the overwhelming animal urine and poop odor inside this house?  It was seriously a hazmat mess!  But thank goodness for awesome friends who helped us clean up this place before we moved in.

You think I was exaggerating about the trash left behind on our property, right?
No, I was not kidding.  This was truck load 1 of 3!

One of the bedrooms.  The stuff you see on the floor definitely ain't ours!
It all went to the trailer you saw in the previous picture

Yup everything you see in the kitchen were not ours!  They were
all the trash they left behind.

More trash
It's just a snake we caught...not sure what kind of snake it was.

I can go on and on about all the other issues like fleas problem and other stuff we had to deal with when we first moved here but I think you are getting a little idea of what we started out with and what we have to work with.  Let's move on to the "fun stuff"!
